With pickup from Canmore or Banff, your day begins effortlessly as you set out toward Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. You’ll arrive at Lake Louise approximately 30 minutes before sunrise, giving you time to settle in and experience the quiet beauty of the lake as the day begins. With a warm drink in hand and a comfortable chair waiting for you, you can relax along the lakeshore as the first light touches the peaks and slowly illuminates the Victoria Glacier. It’s a peaceful, unhurried way to witness one of the Rockies’ most famous sunrises.
Your guide will walk with the group to the lakeshore, pointing out great photo locations and sharing tips to help you make the most of your time. From arrival, you’ll have a full two and a half hours to explore at your own pace. Wander the lakeshore trail, take in the views from the Fairview Lookout, or spend some time near the Fairmont Château Lake Louise—there’s plenty of space to experience the area at your own pace. Your driver will remain nearby, so you’re welcome to leave any extra belongings in the vehicle.
Moraine Lake
From there, the journey continues to Moraine Lake, where a different but equally stunning landscape awaits. Once you arrive, your guide will highlight key areas to explore and share recommendations so you can make the most of your visit. You’ll have two hours to take in the vibrant blue waters and dramatic peaks of the Valley of the Ten Peaks. For one of the best views in the Rockies, you can take the short hike up the Rockpile Trail, or enjoy a relaxed walk along the lakeshore.
As your tour wraps up, sit back and enjoy the scenic drive back to Banff. Your guide will be happy to share personalized tips on things to do, places to eat, and hidden gems to check out during the rest of your stay. You’ll return to your original pickup location with incredible memories of a morning spent exploring two of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

To ensure you experience Lake Louise at its most its most serene and breathtaking, we adjust our departure times daily to arrive at least 30 minutes before sunrise. The itinerary may vary slightly with the changing sunrise schedule.
4:30am – 4:45am: Pick-up in Canmore
4:45am – 5:00am: Pick-up in Banff
5:00am – 6:00am: Travel from Banff to Lake Louise
6:00am – 8:30am: Explore Lake Louise
8:30am – 9:00am: Travel from Lake Louise to Moraine Lake
9:00am – 11:00am: Explore Moraine Lake
11:00am – 11:45am: Travel from Moraine Lake to Banff
11:45am – 12:00pm: Drop-off in Banff

Pickup:
Tours begin in Canmore, with pickups in Banff shortly after. Please be ready 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
Drop-Off:
At the end of the 8 hour tour, you’ll be returned safely to your original pickup location.
Waiver: All adults must sign a waiver prior to the tour. For children under 18, a parent or guardian must complete a waiver. Tours cannot proceed without completed waivers.

How long do we spend at each lake?
You’ll have approximately 2.5 hours at Lake Louise and 2 hours at Moraine Lake, giving you plenty of time to explore at your own pace.
Will there be time to explore on our own?
Yes. While your guide will provide orientation and recommendations, much of your time at each stop is self-guided, allowing you to experience each location in your own way.
What should I wear?
Mornings in the Rockies can be cool, even in summer. We recommend dressing in layers and wearing comfortable walking shoes.
Are food and drinks included?
A warm beverage is provided at Lake Louise to enhance your sunrise experience. You’re welcome to bring additional snacks or breakfast items.
Is this tour suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes. All viewpoints are accessible with minimal walking, and any optional hikes, such as the Rockpile Trail, can be done at your own pace.
Can I leave my belongings in the vehicle?
Yes. Your driver remains nearby, so you’re welcome to leave extra items safely in the vehicle while you explore.
